Lazio Confirms Former Chelsea Boss, Maurizio Sarri As New Manager In A Hilarious Post

Italian Serie A giants, S.S Lazio via it's verified Twitter handle have confirmed that Maurizio Sarri, 62, will be their new manager with a hilarious cigarette tweet.

Sarri will take charge of the club and they poked fun at the ex-Chelsea boss' chain-smoking habit on Twitter.


Lazio simply tweeted the cigarette emoji. And then they added: "Anyone got a light?"

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the news via his Twitter account.


He wrote: Maurizio Sarri has just signed his contract as new Lazio manager until June 2023. Official.  #Lazio #SerieA."

Sarri, a former bank manager, reportedly signed a two-year deal until June 2023 and will oversee a new era for Lazio. There are also potential add-ons - depending on qualification for Europe and winning Serie A.

The former Napoli manager has been jobless since Juventus sacked him last August following 14 months in charge. 

He replaces Simone Inzaghi who has since departed the club for Inter Milan.
