Singer, Justin Bieber Opens Up On His Struggle With Drug Addiction

Canadian singer and songwriter, Justin Bieber, has opened up on his struggles with drug addiction.

In an interview with GQ Magazine, the 27-year-old said the situation was so bad that his bodyguards would sneak into his room at night to check his pulse to know if he is dead or alive.

“It was like I had all this success and it was like I’m still sad, and I’m still in pain. And I still have these unresolved issues, and I thought all the success was going to make everything good. And so for me, the drugs were a numbing agent to just continue to get through,” he said.

The singer said he started taking pills and smoking cannabis when he was 13

He revealed that at some point, he began having issues with Halley Baldwin, his wife.

“I have a wife who I adore, who I feel comforted by. I feel safe. I feel like my relationship with God is wonderful and I have this outpouring of love that I want to be able to share with people”.

Bieber said at a time in his career, he yearned for a sense of normalcy.
