The Man! Lionel Andres Messi Cuccittini was born on June 24, 1987, in Rosario, Argentina. He started his football career at Newell's Old Boys before joining Barcelona at the age of 13.

He made his debut for the Spanish giants FC Barcelona in a competitive match on October 16, 2004 against Espanol when he was 17 years, 3 months and 22 days old becoming the youngest player to represent the team at that time.

Wearing the number 30 jersey, he scored his first goal for FC Barcelona on 1st May, 2005 against Albacete; a match in which he came in for Samuel Eto'o in the 87th minute of the game and later turn the icon number 10 jersey to a global brand LM10.

He has won the European golden boot six times, LaLiga best player six times, pichichi trophy six times, and LaLiga best forward seven times. He has been on the FIFpro world 11 since 2007 and the UEFA Team of the year since 2008 missing out only in 2013. He holds the record for the most goals scored in a calendar year with 91 goals scored in 2012.

He is happily married to his childhood friend Antonella Roccuzzo with 3 lovely kids - Thiago, Mateo and Ciro.
